Description

Boy this was a big one,

This plateau is shrouded in in not just mist, but also in mystery. For sometime after Jouronishiima's discovery, the Mio-jiima's plateau remained completely unexplored for some time... till now.

The picture you see is a photo taken by the trailcam E.U.C.L.Y.D. (Exploration Utility Cam Like Your Dog) during the fifteenth Mio-Jiima nature expedition. what you are seeing here are the first live photos of the plateau's animals, as well as a strange entity with the body of a human, a tail resembling a lemur's, has simple garments, and a head adorned in blue and pale grey hair.

this is the great Mio-Jiima plateau, Joronishiima's biggest island plateau and the one with the most life on it, as it is covered in couchmoss and curtain moss (which is a relative to spanish moss), and there are trees and ferns everywhere.

The animals and plants here are very diverse and unique, as they where made ingeniously by the creator of life himself, and his designs are always unique and perfect.

Crowned Thrashmocker
Scientific name: Mijus Kurokon
Native name: Kuro-orokon Torii (Black-crown Bird)
Gender difference: Females are brown and white, while the males are white and black

The Crowned thrashmocker is a Gorgeous, black and white passerine with blue legs and a blue beak. Though it does indeed have a beak, its highly obscured by it's "crown" which is used not for display, but is actually used like whiskers. The crown/whiskers are used for detecting vibrations made by bark bugs under the bark on tree trunks, and as soon as it finds something, the Thrashmocker rips the bark off, and then gets the bug.
The Crowned Thrashmocker breeds once every 5 years during January, they buld nests in the forks of trees, and they use spiderwebs to tether the nest to the fork's branches.

Blue-backed spider
scientific name: Herennia Pollense
Native name: Koroi Jorogumo
Gender difference: Males are much smaller than females, and female's markings are more complex

The Blue-backed orb weaver is a strange animal, as it catches pollen, fern spores, and orchid seeds in it's silver-ish white web, and lets insects out if caught. these spiders are found exclusively on and around the plateau, and they live in pairs, a male and a female. this species breeds every 5 years during fall, they wrap themselves and their eggs in cocoons along with stored pollen from spring and summer to keep them fed during the winter. like all Jorinese spiders, these are not cannabalistic.
